Introduces beginning and continuing students to our alignment-based, heart-centered hatha yoga in a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere. Emphasis is on creating a strong foundation for the practice by building strength and flexibility through standing poses, beginning backbends and seated poses.
Builds on and refines standing poses from Level 1, introduces deeper backbends, seated hip openers and beginning inversions. Suitable for students who have studied other styles of yoga but not suitable for those who are absolute beginners.
For continuing students who have an understanding of bio-mechanical principles of alignment and yoga philosophy. This class focuses on refining alignment of all the basic postures and playfully explores deeper backbends, inversions and arm balances.
For intermediate/experienced students who have a solid, ongoing practice. Deeper backbends, variations in inversions and arm balances will be emphasized. Elements of yoga philosophy will be presented in greater depth. A regular practice outside of class is strongly encouraged. The prerequisite for this class is 6 months regular attendance in our Level 3 classes or by permission of instructor.
Dive into the ocean of peace within, and emerge renewed, rejuvenated and re-inspired. Restorative postures are supported with props and held for longer timings. Open to all levels of students.
Yoga and Pilates (all levels)
Pilates is a form of exercise that works the deep core and postural muscles, while providing stability and support for the spine. Combined with the strength, flexibility, and body awareness that yoga creates, this class supports students to deepen their mind-body connection by practicing healthy alignment, exercises, and postures.
Meditation is the practice of turning our attention inside. In doing so, we deepen our understanding of ourselves and connect with our own divine nature. As a core practice of Yoga this session is open to all – beginners and experienced meditators alike. The session will include instruction in posture, breathing and simple techniques to turn your awareness inside. Free of charge for class-card holders, $10 for non-class-card holders.
The Maha Practice
A monthly 3-hour practice that includes postures from every category of poses. The sequence is designed to challenge you, help you build stamina and explore the edge of your asana practice. Prerequisites: Minimum 1 year regular yoga practice, no active injuries, the ability to respect your limits while maintaining a positive self-regard. By donation only, class cards do not apply.
